OMG!! BIKRAM IS SOOOOO HARD!! The sun was beating down like crazy yesterday! It was like 90 degrees all over the city! And in times square it was RIDICULOUS!!
So yea….that was my very first ever Bikram Hot Yoga Class. And i might have been a little in over my head…See I got dizzy…really dizzy and dehydrated. I didn’t eat anything that morning. All I had was a banana and a bottle of water. I usually practice vinyasa and workout on an empty stomach. I figured Bikram would be the same way. Not in the slightest. 45 minutes into the 90 minutes class, I was so beat down. I couldn’t understand it. I was getting so dizzy and I had to stop often to drink water. ( I downed like 4 bottles of water >__<) During our fist savasana, I just kinda laid there and skipped the next couple of poses because I felt as though if I did any more twists and turns, I would throw up. One of the teachers walking around checking up on everybody noticed my dead body lying down and she offered to pour cold water on my head and my wrists. I eventually got up to finish the class because I wanted to complete the whole class. And I did! Except the final pose was rapid breaths of fire..which almost made me pass out in that heat @___@
I still want to participate in next year’s Yoga Summer Solstice, but I think i’ll need to practice bikram before hand…just so I don’t die again…X__X;
But I did get an awesome new mat and lots of free yoga classes in the city!! So woot for me!! :D
